REGISTRATION REQUIRED Registration deadline: August 6 This project requires bending and lifting up to 30 lbs. continuously. Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Hampton Roads Urban Restoration Team as we install a 718-foot living shoreline at the Mallard Point Association along the Hampton River. This project will create 3,312.75 square feet of oyster habitat, enhance/add 15,946 square feet of low- and high-marsh wetland habitat, and convert 15,774 square feet of turfgrass into a native vegetated buffer. This part of The Mallard Point Living Shoreline Project will involve transporting and installing 550 bushels of recycled loose oyster shell into the project footprint. Each bushel weighs about 50 pounds. Participants must be 18 years or older.
